Raggedflight stepped from the dark shadows of the warriors den blinking rapidly so her eyes would adjust to the soft filtering rays of sun streaming through the trees over head. Before making her way around the camp to the fresh kill pile to pick a squirrel and disappearing as best she could with the white in her ginger coat pelt to the shadows so she could watch as her many clan mates either returned from a patrol or appeared groggy from the den while keeping her distance from most of the other cats.

Pinefoot was exhausted from the days work. His crooked foot was bothering him again but he ignored is as he pushed through the entrance tunnel to the camp. He carried with him a unusually plump black squirrel and he moved stiffly over to the freshkill pile to deposit it. He must've been day dreaming when he ran smack into Raggedflight, a pretty ginger she-cat he rarely talked to. Then again, Pinefoot rarely had friends. He dropped the squirrel at her paws and then looked up into her eyes. "You look like the squirrel loving type. Want it?" He said smoothly then cursed himself innerly for sounding so idiotic.

Raggedflight flicked her amber gaze at the black squirrel at her paws before returning her gaze to the brown tabby tom, Pinefoot if she remembered correctly. "I am indeed a squirrel loving type, but I just ate one. So if you wish me to eat this one your going to have to share it with me." She meowed softly, as she did a very brief shake of her body before bending to grab the squirrel and take to a spot to curl up and share with the tom.

Pinefoot loved the way she bent down to get comfortable before the freshkill. He leaped with joy innerly as he crouched down before the squirrel and took a bite of the juicy, still warm, meat. When he finished chewing the first bite, he looked back up and noticed she remained quiet while they shared the meal. "You're awfully quiet all the time. I don't mean to be rude... It's just, we are exactly alike. I don't speak much... You know what happened to my parents." You're stupid! That was a stupid comment! However, Pinefoot pricked his ears forward and desperately waited for her to say something.

Raggedflight glanced up as she chewed her bite of squirrel. "I know what happened, and I'm sorry that it happened." She whispered around her tail to hide the bite of squirrel she had. With a rough swallow. "Besides I'm always quiet its just the way i am and besides its not really nice, let alone comfortable to talk around squirrel." She meowed teasingly at the tom.

Pinefoot's ears began to heat up as she teased him but he knew it was good that he was making friends. In the long run, Pinefoot could come to love this she-cat because she happened to be just like him. "I think it's cute when she-cat's talk with their mouths full. It shows bravado and that makes tom's happy." Pinefoot teased. It was actually jokingly and he hoped he didn't offend her.

With a roll of her eyes, and a soft playful growl built in Raggedflights throat as she gazed at the tom. "Lets see you chew with a mouth full of squirrel I wish to discover if it shall make a she-cat happy as well" She meowed back with a sharper hit of sarcasm in her voice. Though she met nothing bad by it, and besides her eyes gave her away with the glint of mischief that they held in there amber depths. Before nudging what was left of the black squirrel to see if he would actually try and prove it to her that or just get a good laugh out of it.

"Oh right! I'll take you up on that challenge!" He noticed the playful glint in her eyes and and bent and took a huge bite of squirrel. He chewed once before he opened his mouth and tried to speak. "Iwahua proohed du brong!" In translation; I proved you wrong, but Pinefoot was unsuccessful with his demonstration. He quickly swallowed and coughed to push the rest of the meat down before he looked back up at Raggedflight.

"Not as easy as it looks is it, but you know what I think your right its just as good for the she-cat" Raggedflight purred. As she let her amber gaze shift to the squirrel before taking another bite of her own to chew and swallow. Before returning her full attention to the tom "Who would of thought you could have so much fun sharing a squirrel with another." She meowed.

The statement seemed to catch Pinefoot off guard. He looked at her and her eyes shined back at him, backing a breath catch in his throat as he seemed to notice her for the first time. Like she was meant to be part of him. "Can we be friends!" He blurted out suddenly, unable to hold it back. Something flared inside of him then and he couldn't explain it.
