The small brown tabby made his way out of his family's paws. They always where yelling at each other or fussing over his little sister Rejectedkit. Not only did he have the most chores to do out of his four sisters, he was the one who was punished the most by his father. Altrusticpaw looked up from the dirt pile his little sister made and picked it up with his teeth. A growl rose from his throat as he saw his father staring down at him. He didn't want to take care of the whole family! Altrusticpaw's caramel brown eyes glared at his father in defeat. Hearing his mentor shout out at him he raced out of the meadow and stared at his mentor with a small look as they made their way towards the training field. All the apprentices where supposed to have some sort of get together where the toms ran against each other while the she-cat...well they did different things. Altrusticpaw was to far lost in his thoughts when he looked around to see a huge group of apprentices and warriors staring at each of them. The she-cat Memorypaw gave a smirk at him and stuck her paw out in front of him, "opps!" she cackled and walked away sitting down next to her friends. Altrusticpaw stood up and shook his fur only slightly, dirt and dust clung to his fur that he didn't shake out. Looking up he heard all the cats go quiet and stared at the new mentor who arrived, A new apprentice? He asked himself quietly. There wasn't any new naming ceremonies he missed, was there?

Vanishedpaw A beautiful little black she-cat stepped out from behind her mentor, batting her eyes as she looked around at all the other cats. No fear gripped her heart, only utter joy. She was here at last, a clan where she could make something of herself. That's all she'd ever wanted, and that's all her parents had ever wanted her to do. Her blue eyes focused on Memorypaw as she tripped the little tabby tom and she glanced at her mentor before slipping towards Alturisticpaw and dipping her head. "Are you ok?" She asked, looking into his caramel brown eyes with interest. Why did he just take that? He should have fought back!

The tom couldn't help but stare at the new she-cat with confusion as she batted her eyes. He thought nothing of it until she came over to him, who was she?! Still a little lost in thought he heard a voice coming from in front of him. Blinking his caramel eyes he looked at the she-cat who showed no fear once so ever. Not even the smallest scent of it. He noticed the black she-cat was in front of his face staring at him and a small frown graced his face. Altrusticpaw looked at Vanishedpaw, "Yeah I'm fine." He grumbled and looked away from the she-cat and stared where all the toms where going. His small tabby body walked over to where there was a mentor yelling out orders. "Get on the line Altrusticpaw. You know you're spot." His voice was sharp and commanding. Of course it was a toms only. Takking his spot in between Raggedpaw and Dominopaw he stared forward looking at the ending of the race and slitted his eyes.

Vanishedpaw's ears perked as he said he was fine. Then she glanced at all the toms lining up, apparently for a race. Most of them were big and muscled. They don't have the build of a runner... But that little tabby does. I bet I can beat them though! It's time to show this new clan I'm not afraid to be different. Vanishedpaw shouldered her way through the cats and lined up with the toms. She was too small to be noticed until the race started and she was suddenly ahead of the toms, her long legs and short body making her a fast runner. Soon Vanishedpaw was at the end of the race, ahead of all the toms. She smiled and looked at them, finding Alturisticpaw. "Nice race!" Se complemented, blue eyes twinkling.

Altrusticpaw felt the wind rush through his fur, it felt great like his was flying or in his own little world. His muscles pressing up against his skin felt great in a since. Turning his head to see he was in first for a long moment and then looked back to the finish line. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a female a black she-cat race up in front of him. Taking another look he saw it was the she-cat he saw earlier. Forcing his body to go fast he looked franticly at the finish line. His muscles pressed to their limit as he crossed the finished line in second. Moments later Altrusticpaw felt himself collapse to the ground gasping for air. His caramel eyes stared at the cheery she-cat that didn't seem out of breath. He didn't know what to say to her. Staring until his gaze made it was back to his paws then back up, "Good job I guess. For a she-cat I mean." He complimented sourly. His pelt prickled. He should of been in first place! Not that she-cat! What would his dad do?! "I'm Altrusticpaw." He grumbled lowly looking away.

"For a she-cat? I believe this she-cat just beat all of you toms." She pointed out with a smirk, then realized he seemed mad. "I'm sorry... I probably shouldn't have hopped into that race, but its a little late for that now... And I'm Vanishedpaw, it's nice to meet you." The she-cat mewed, breathing at a normal rate. She'd hardly pushed herself to win that race, and she imagined that made Alturisticpaw even more mad, so she began breathing heavily as if she was tired... But it wasn't a very good act.

Altruisticpaw watched the she-cat with slitted eyes, his chest still heaving with exaustion. Watching the she-cats face grow into a smirk, a small low growl rumbled through his throat. "I've noticed you can do whatever you want." A relaxed face went over him when his younger sister raced forward and looked at Vanishedpaw with awed eyes, then turned back to Altruisticpaw, "Did you win did you win?!" A frown grew on the toms face before turning to glare at the she-cat in front of him. "No. She beat me, go back to our family Misplacekit."
Ignoring her brother she stared at Vanishedpaw and a smile grew on her face, "You beat my brother?! And all the boys?! Woah!" Her little pet shuffled acrossed the fur. Watching her breathing hardly she gave a long confused look. A small giggle went throughout her body, "What are you doing?"
Altruisticpaw nodded at the she-cats apology. "You don't need to act tired. I get you are faster than the rest of us." His voice still hold some bite to it, but at least she apologized. It wasn't like he was ever gonna speak to her again.

Vanishedpaw's ears perked up as Altruisticpaw seemed to calm down, and she felt better, a slight happiness spreading over her now that he seemed happier. She watched as the little kit came running over, a quiet purr coming from her chest. "Yup, I beat them all!" She mewed with a smile. "But your brother came in a close second." Vanishedpaw commented, half glancing at Altruisticpaw.
She felt her cheeks get hot with a blush as both the kit and the apprentice saw right through her phony act of 'breathing heavily.' She stopped quickly and glanced up at Altrusiticpaw. "No, it's just probably because I know some pretty good techniques. I could show you some time if you want." The she-cat offered, a slight smile pulling on the edges of her mouth.

He watched the she-cat with widened eyes as she seemed to be happier when he calmed down. She didn't need to rethink her emotions because of his emotions! His tabby fur prickled slightly as he heard her say that she beat all of the toms. Giving a slight grunt he looked away, trying to find something more interesting than this. Vanishedpaw was so... willing to do something... it honestly scared him and yet he was in awe of her own ways. Pricking his ears at the she-cat's words praising him. He didn't know either or not to be grateful or be angry. "Yeah. I almost won." It wasn't fair. He trained all the time!
The kits brown eyes glittered as she praised her brother, Misplacedkit purred and trotted around Vanishedpaw and smiled, "I'm Misplacedkit!" Her voice squeaking happily.
"I don't need your help." His gaze moved onto the she-cat firmly. It was true. He didn't need help, he just needed to win. Even if he did need help he wouldn't ask a she-cat who just came in from the rouges.

Vanishedpaw purred, watching the she-cat walk around her. "Well, it's very nice to meet you Misplacedkit." She mewed softly, as she would to any kit... She had a bit of a... Soft spot for kits. "I'm Vanishedpaw." The black she-cat continued happily, and then heard Altruisticpaw's cold words. She looked at him with her blue eyes. "Whatever you want, but trust me, they'd help you a lot." Her words were tempting. "Eh, who am I kidding? I'm just a rogue she-cat right?" She mewed, understanding perfectly why he said no. "Sexist." Vanishedpaw muttered under her breath.
