Kovu nodded and padded back to the window and leaped out of it, then padded over to Maplefur and mewed. "Raven's supposed to meet us by the oak tree at the edge of twoleg place. By now he's lost the guards and they're going to be headed back here, so we better get going." He started walking forward but noticed Maplefur walking in circles, and he realized how hard it must be for her to wrap her head around all that had happened.
"Listen... I didn't know who I was dealing with when I was told I had to come and get you and bring you back to Kobi. Originally, I would have done so and let you die... But you're different. I couldn't let you die, and the only way you could survive was for Kobi to die. So, please don't be mad at me for killing him. Though he did deserve it. After all, he forced me to bring you back here. I would have been crowfood if I disobeyed him." He explained and sighed. |

 The she-cat's ears twitched upwards as he mentioned her son's safety. Maplefur let out a soft breath of relief, thankful that she would see Raven again. She paused her frantic circling when Kovu began to speak again, her eyes narrowing to slits in suspicion. As he spoke, Maplefur eyes widened ever so slightly. When he was done, she opened her mouth to say something, but the words were caught in her throat. What could she say? I forgive you? It wouldn't be the truth. Though she still trusted Kovu with her life.
"I-I.... Kovu, I'm not angry that you killed Kobi. You did what I wasn't brave enough to do all those moons ago, and I'm thankful. I will never forget Kobi, but thanks to you... I won't have any more nightmares for a long, long time," she wanted to say more, something along the lines of i freaking love you, but she bit her tongue and kept her mouth shut. She wasn't ready yet. Her blue orbs slid to the land before them. "We should head off now, I don't want Raven having to wait for us long," she mewed, anxious to get to her son.

Kovu was thankful that Maplefur wasn't mad at him for killing Kobi, yet he still felt tension between them. I love her so much... I hope we get through this. He thought to himself. We should head off now, I don't want Raven having to wait for us long. Kovu gave a slight nod and padded off towards the tall oak tree where Raven was waiting. The white and black striped tom stayed off the fences, remembering Maplefur's hurt paw.
Soon, he could see the large tree on the horizon, which also marked the edge of the twoleg place. The twoleg place, my home. He thought and suddenly he realized Maplefur would be leaving him soon to go back to Thunderclan. Raven would probably follow her, and Kovu would be all alone... I'm not going to volunteer to join Thunderclan if Maplefur doesn't want it that way. He thought and reached the oak tree, not seeing Raven he began to panic, but then the small white and black tom dropped down from a tree branch, landing infront of the two cats.
Excitement sparkled in Raven's light blue eyes as he exclamined, "Those guards wouldn't give up! It's a good thing they're as slow as turtles." He smirked happily and glanced at Maplefur, uncertain of what his mother thought about him. But for right now, he didn't want to break the ice, he just wanted to leave the dreaded twoleg place behind. "Well, let's go!" He mewed, bounding off towards Thunderclan territory.
Kovu exchanged a glance with Maplefur and nodded. "He probably just wants to leave old memories behind." The tom mewed wisely, having known Raven since he was a kit, Kovu knew what the young cat was thinking alot of the time. With that, he padded after Raven. |

She padded after him, her thoughts spinning like a whirlwind. Images of Kobi's corpse, finally meeting her son, anxiety to get back to ThunderClan. At the thought of her Clan, Maplefur glanced at Kovu. Would this be the last time she saw him? Maybe he'll join the Clans, she thought with hope. He doesn't love me that much... I don't even know if he loves me at all. She sighed softly.
Being caught up in her rapid thoughts, Maplefur didn't notice Raven landing before them. She jumped when he started talking, her fur fluffing out. The she-cat cleared her throat in embarassment, smoothing down her fur while she did so. Her gaze flew to Raven, a smile erupting on her face. ...leave old memories behind. Maplefur nodded. 'We have that in common, I see," she replied and started after the two toms.

Kovu smirked and kept padding along, slowing himself so he matched Maplefur's pace. Raven, on the other hand, was ahead of the two, racing for his new home. There, no one would hurt him, and no one could force him to do anything. It's like heaven!
They came to the Thunderclan border and Raven crossed it, but Kovu stopped and looked at Maplefur uneasily. Does she care enough to ask me to join? Who are you kidding, of course she doesn't. He told himself bitterly, anger flooding through his blue eyes.

 Her blue eyes shined as she watched her son bound away, joyed that there was more of a spring in Raven's step. She breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that all her worrying about him was long gone. Now, she'd be able to see him every day, watch him grow into a loyal warrior. He'd find the perfect she-cat and raise a family with her. The hint of a smile tugged Maplefur's lips upwards as she thought of her near future. She pictured herself, slowly aging as she watched her beloved son grow up, with an equally grey-haired tom at her side.
Maplefur swallowed, her gaze switching to Kovu's face beside her. She realized she didn't want to let him go. She couldn't bear him being so far away from her and Raven. If she asked, would he join her Clan? She passed over the ThunderClan border without realizing it, but noticed that she was now walking alone. Maplefur turned around, blinking questioningly at Kovu. Oh, right, she was in Clan territory now. She noted the anger in his eyes. Maplefur glanced over her shoulder at Raven, then back towards Kovu.
"I... Kovu, I don't want to lose you," she said in a quiet murmur, hoping that he felt the same way.

Raven glanced over his shoulder and saw the two cats caught up at the border. He smirked. I'll give them some time alone. He thought to himself and raced towards the camp, knowing that the clan would accept him as soon as Maplefur came back and confirmed he was her son. Raven began sniffing out the Riverclan cat's scents, finding his way to the camp.
..I don't want to lose you. A smile tugged at the edges of Kovu's mouth. So she does care. "And I don't want to lose you either." He mewed, stepping across the border and pressing his white and black striped cheek to Maplefur's grey one. "I'm coming with you." ooc;; I'll make a thread where Raven comes to Spottedpaw because he got a thorn in his pad on the way to the camp. |

Maplefur's ears twitched as she heard the rustling of leaves that told her Raven had left. She focused her attention on Kovu, breathing in slowly. She noticed his slight smile, and grinned in return. At his words, her smile grew wider and a purr erupted from her throat. I'm coming with you. She leaned into his touch. "I'm glad," she murmured.

Kovu's heart filled with joy as she leaned into him and he felt a purr coming from deep in his chest. He licked her ear quickly before stepping past her and mewing, "We better go, your leader will be happy to see you back I'm sure." He mewed, a smile in his light blue eyes. |
