; baby blue eyes fixed ahead, ignoring the harsh sunlight burning her fur. a ripple went across the water, and the young female went into action as quick as she could. a paw flashed out, batting the water, and in no less than five seconds, a fish was hanging dead from her claws. the apprentice grinned, proud. she dropped the fish on the three other pieces of prey beside her which consisted of a vole, a shrew and another trout. crowbone should acknowledge her now...right? summerpaw snorted, as if. her father didn't want to do anything involved praising his disowned daughter.

the small ginger cat picked up the prey, tail twitching at the weight. as she walked back to camp, she noticed other animals all around her, going around their daily life now that they knew she was done for the day and wouldn't bother. around ten minutes later, she arrived at camp, having gone at a slow walk. she dropped her kills on the pile, and grabbed the vole, walking over to the dark shape of crowbone, worry filling her gaze.

"father...i was out hunting, and i caught this. you can have it..."

[/color] she mewed after dropping the vole in front of the very large tom, whose pelt was a dark was a crow's wing. crowbone's eyes flashed, and he growled softly. "i'm not longer your father, i told you that moons ago. now leave me be. you're a disgrace."[/color] he snarled, kicking the vole away, letting it roll in the dust, before lashing out a paw and catching summerpaw's ear, causing it to bleed.

summerpaw blinked back tears, as well as slight anger. she nodded. "of course....crowbone. i won't bother you anymore."[/color] she mewed softly, turning on her her hind paws quickly to race away in the opposit direction to the shelter of the apprentices' den. why...why did crowbone have to act this way? it wasn't her fault that her mother had died! she bit back tears. she allowed the tears to fall from her eyes.

who was she kidding? crowbone would never acknoledge her...she would be delusional if she died.[/blockquote]

spiderpaw's dark brown ears flattened against his skull as he watched the injustice fold out in front of him. his claws were unsheathed from their folds and dug into the soft ground beneath him. his dark yellow eyes flashed with anger as he watched the cruel father reject the prey. spiderpaw snapped up, his tail lashing as summerpaw was caught on the ear by crowbone's malicious claws. his paws itched to run to her side, but he knew that wasn't the way to handle crowbone. it would only make the tom even more irritating and harsh. he would probably lash out at summerpaw even more and spiderpaw was not going to take that risk.

his saddened gaze followed his best friend as she scurried off and he padded after her. as he got closer, he heard the sound of her sobbing. spiderpaw pushed past his clanmates and immediately lay beside her, acting as her shield of comfort from all that was crowbone. her father was such a jerk. "he is such a jerk," he murmured, not realizing he was thinking aloud until he heard the sound of his own voice. the large tom pressed closer to his friend, hoping to comfort her in any way he could.

; summerpaw barely acknowledged the prescence of the other apprentices tying to see what was wrong. she blinked, catching the familiar scent of spiderpaw immediately, she pressed her face into his fur, muffling her sobs slightly. she blinked blue eyes as she heard a voice, and her whole body shook. "he's not a jerk...in his opinion,i deserve it. causing my mother's death..."

a whole new round of sobs escaped her at the mention of her mother. maybe it was her fault...when she had been a kit, she had snuck out of camp to go looking for her father. her mother had come chasing after her, and pushed her precious daughter out of the way of a trap, getting caught herself and bleeding out. only spiderpaw knew how much it had tortured her all this years. she blinked, feeling something sticky covering half of her face, before realizing it was the blood seeping from the injured crowbone had just given her.[/blockquote][/size][/blockquote]

spiderpaw shook his head, unable to believe her words. "you didn't cause your mother's death and i never want you to even think you did, okay?" he murmured, grimacing when she started crying again. naturally, he was better with she-cats than toms, but he hated seeing anyone cry nonetheless. he wrapped his tail around her protectively, ignoring the glances they got from other apprentices and warriors. the tip of his tail brushed her cheek comfortingly, but there was something sticky on her fur. spiderpaw glanced down and gasped. "summerpaw, you're bleeding... like, a lot! we gotta get you some herbs or uh, something," he said, wishing he knew at least one thing about herbs. he stood up, gazing at her worridly

Summerpaw sighed. She didn't like getting the attention of anyone, but for some reason, when Spiderpaw did it, she smiled. "No, no, I'm fine."
