' The grey tabby tom purred when she caught the fish and was happy about it, but when she took more time to study it and realized it was small and started pouting, he felt instantly horrible inside. He touched his nose to her cheek. "Hey. I wasn't very good at fishing at first either, trust me." He smiled charmingly. "I consider that fish right there a great first catch!" Rainpaw mewed truthfully, trying to raise her spirits. "You just need a bit of practice and soon I'm sure you'll catch a fish big enough to feed all of the elders!" He said, boosting her confidence.

You're unbreakable ; So Shine Crystalpaw flinched away as he touched her cheek. "Please don't." She mewed politely. The shecat listened to what he said, trying to absorb it all. His words of comfort were nice, but she knew she would never get it. "Heh. Thanks, but, that may be awhile until that happens with the elders." She mewed, and looked back at the water. This was beyond awkward.. |

' Rainpaw shrugged. "You can't expect to be an expert right away." He mewed and jumped onto the side of the bank, shaking his fur free from the water. Then he stretched out, his muscles rippling under his handsome grey tabby pelt. He then sat down and curled his tail around his paws, glancing at Crystalpaw. "Do you want to go on a walk? I'm a bit bored of this river." He mewed with a yawn of boredom.

You're unbreakable ; So Shine Crystalpaw smiled up at him, glad that he wasn't mad at her anymore. She took what he said into consideration. She just had to practice more, and she would eventually get it. Gotta think positive, Crystalpaw. The apprentice felt foolish about talking to herself like that, as if she had a voice speaking to her. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind of those random thoughts, and looked back up at Rainpaw when he asked to go for a walk. A walk sounds... really nice. The shecat nodded her head eagarly and said, "Sure, that sounds great."
Then, she jumped up unto the bank with the tom and started leading the way. She didn't know where she was going, so just decided to wing it. Although, something was bothering her about the tom. "Listen Rainpaw." She said, and sat down, so there wouldn't be any distractions. "I know you like me and all... And I don't mean to break your heart or anything, but I don't feel the same way." She faced him then. "I just want to be friends. Best friends." She then added a smile. She meant it. Rainpaw was someone she could talk to, and it could be about anything. Yeah, my best friend. The apprentice liked the sound of that . |

' Rainpaw's heart fell a bit, but he refused to let it show on his face. He'd been padding happily along at Crystalpaw's side and then all of sudden she said this? His blue eyes just kept sparkling in a charming way, as he'd refuse to make her feel bad over her choice. Besides, being best friends seemed pretty good to him anyways. He'd find someone else. "Sure. Best friends sounds great." The grey tabby tom mewed, a smile forming on his lips.

You're unbreakable ; So Shine Crystalpaw's pelt ruffled a little from the wind. She twitched her ears slightly, something about the way Rainpaw was handling all of this made her not believe him entirely. She then saw him smile. It made her frown slightly. Is he faking that smile?
Now, the shecat wasn't usually the paranoid type, but at times like this she was. Why couldn't the two just be best friends and be happy about it? Why did they have to be closer in Rainpaw's eyes.. or mind? Of course the shecat didn't know how much he liked her. She was pretty blind to when a cat loved her... If love even existed for the young apprentice. "Love's a myth." She accidently muttered aloud. She then widened her eyes in panic. Did he hear hear?! She hoped not.
The shecat racked her mind for something that would change the subject, so he wouldn't ask about what she just said. "Um, Rainpaw? Are you telling me the truth when you say that it sounds great?" She blurted, not really wanting to say that. Well, it was all I could think of... |

' Rainpaw frowned when she accidently said that love was a myth, but her next words were even more shocking to her. Did she not believe him? "Yes, it's the truth. I'd love to have the honor of being your best friend." He mewed honestly with a smirk, but it faded when he noted the serious look in Crystalpaw's eyes. "You don't believe me, do you?"

You're unbreakable ; So Shine The apprentice gave him a sad smirk, lifting only part of her mouth up in an awkward way. She wanted to believe him, but something told her that he wasn't quite satisfied. I could be wrong.. She looked up at the clear blue sky then, trying to sort her thoughts, and thinking about what she should say. When he accused her of not believing him she sighed, directing her gaze to her paws. She refused to look up at him, she just wanted to look at her paws that were digging into the hot sand and searing her soft pads. But, she was being childish, so finally looked up, staring straight into Rainpaw's eyes. Stop being such a kit, Crystalpaw.
"I want to, Rainpaw." She said, honestly. The shecat narrowed her eyes in a confused way. She didn't know what else to say. She yet again, racked her mind for something to say that wasn't beyond stupid. You're such a bitch. Her own thoughts stung. It was stupid, she knew that. Whose own words sting? Yet again, the shecat sighed and forced a smile. "I can talk about anything with you. No matter what it is." She said, randomly. It was off subject, and she knew that, but she didn't know what else to say. |

' Rainpaw watched her curiously as she sorted through her thoughts, but apparently they only lead to her saying something off topic. Oh well, might as well go with it. He thought to himself and nodded slowly. "And I can talk with you about anything." He mewed in return, a smile pulling at the corners of his mouth as he touched his tail-tip to her shoulder. "Now come on, I think we have a walk to finish." He mewed, standing up and waiting for the she-cat to take the lead again.

You're unbreakable ; So Shine Crystalpaw smiled, delighted to hear the same words she had spoken come out of the tom's mouth. She couldn't put into words how happy she was. The shecat finally had a best friend that she could count on, she had been betrayed one too many times.
The apprentice noticed how he waited for her to take the lead. He's learning. The thought made her smile. Rainpaw knew she liked to be in control, and knew she liked all the attention. She loved to lead, and hated to follow. "Well where to, Rainpaw? I honestly don't feel like going back to camp yet." She giggled, and looked at him, eyes sparkling. Her pace wasn't slow, and yet it wasn't too fast. It was just right for a walk. Just like how Rainpaw was just right for a companion to walk with.
