Skykit [/center] Skykit, a small gray tom with light blue eyes, sat in the nursery, very bored. He had been playing with a queens tail, when he got a sudden urge to do something else. Pouting-- well, as much as a cat could pout-- he tried to think of something to do. His ears perking, he thought of something. Slowly, he made his way towards the stepping stones that led out of camp. His mischievious side started coming out. Skykit flattened himself to ground, inching ever closer to the entrance to camp. Almost there... He thought to himself, passing the elders den. |

Lilacstar
╩╩╩╩╩╩ ' The silver tabby she-cat sat perched at the rivers edge, with Buttercupblossom and a few other warriors at her side. She'd been leading the dawn hunting patrol at the river, but as she looked to the pile of fish they had already gathered, she realized that the warriors could take a break as they'd caught enough already to feed most of the clan.
"Buttercupblossom, can you please take these fish to the fresh kill pile? The rest can help you, and you're all dissmissed from the hunting patrol." Lilacstar instructed, turning around to pad back towards the camp. She had a few duties to attend to, like announcing her new deputy.
The she-cat got side tracked as she noticed a small, grey bundle of fur headed towards the camp entrance. She raised an eye brow and padded up behind the kit, stepping on his tail. "Where do you think you're going, young one?" She questioned with narrowed eyes.

Skykit [/center] While Lilacstar was trying to get back to camp, the small gray kit was trying to get out. Skykit, trying to be stealthy while scurrying out of camp, had taken almost no notice of Riverclan's leader. So, when she put a paw firmly on his tail, he squeaked loudly in mild surprise and fell face first on the ground. He quickly spat out dirt that had gotten into his mouth, and shook his head everywhere to get the mud off of his face. scowling, he sat up and curled his tail around his small paws.
"Where do you think you're going, young one?" Lilacstar asked, narrowing her eyes at him while Skykit tried to smile innocently. Glumly, he realized he couldn't pull that off. So he stared at his paws. "I'm not going anywhere, Lilacstar," he replied, head still down. [OOC: sorry it's kind of short...] |

' The she-cat kept a stern face as the kit fell into the mud and spat out dirt. As much as she loved kits, she knew she had to be firm with each and every one of them if they were to grow up to be strong warriors. Skykit had potential, if he wasn't so shy.
I'm not going anywhere Lilacstar.
Riverclan needed strong, smart, and disciplined warriors, and she wanted Skykit to become one of those warriors. Granted, she wanted every kit to become one of those warriors, as Riverclan had been missing cats lately, like every clan had.

The small kit slowly flicked his tail, and Skykit slowly lifted his head until he could barely see the top of Lilacstar's. He looked up just in time to see the silver tabby nod at him. She continued. "Right. Now, what would your parents think if they didn't know where you'd gone? They'd be worried sick, wouldn't they?" He tilted his head questioningly. Didn't the leader know his parents had died? Skykit hadn't even known them.
So he answered truthfully. " They would; well, I mean, I guess they would. I don't know for sure though." He flicked his ear, sending a fly into the air. Skykit wanted to be a warrior, but he also wanted to see outside the camp before he was an apprentice. He hated being stuck in camp all day.Being a kit is so boring... he thought dully.

' Lilacstar sighed and looked the kit over. "I suppose a little exploring wouldn't hurt now would it?" She asked, walking past him and out of the camp. The silver tabby she-cat stopped and looked over her shoulder, purple eyes shimmering in the early morning light. "Well, are you coming?" She asked the kit.
No, Lilacstar hadn't gone crazy. She just remembered what it was like when she was a loner, being watched so closely by her parents and brothers. She'd just wanted to escape, and the leader imagined this was how Skykit felt. So, she figured she'd give him the oppurtunity.

Lilacstar let out a sigh. Skykit looked at her, and she mewed,"I suppose a little exploring wouldn't hurt now would it?" His jaw almost dropped. Was she serious? Why did she change her mind? He was still sitting there pondering when the she-cat walked past him.
She headed out of camp, and he decied that she was serious. The silver tabby looked over her shoulder. "Well, are you coming?" she asked, and The fluffy gray tom let out a mewl of excitement. "I'm coming!" he squealed as he bounded out of camp into the morning light.

' Lilacstar smiled as the small grey kit bounded forward towards her. She came to the exit of the camp and stared at the wet, slippery stones known as the stepping stones. It was the easiest way across the river, but she knew Skykit couldn't make it across by himself. She turned her purple gaze on him, clearly thinking.
"One day when you're older, you'll be able to cross these rocks on your own. But that day isn't today." She mewed, grabbing the kit's scruff in her teeth. The Riverclan leader then ran across the rocks, not even stopping to gain her balance once. She'd crossed those stones a countless number of times, and knew the path by heart.
The silver tabby she-cat set Skykit down once they'd crossed and nodded. "Well, where exactly do you want to go?" She asked him, not sure what, in his mind, was fun to go to. Her purple eyes glanced around as she tried to think of a place, but none really came to mind.

Skykit quickly caught up to the she-cat as she came to the wet stepping stones. She looked at him, then mewed,"One day when you're older, you'll be able to cross these rocks on your own. But that day isn't today." The silver cat grabbed him by the scruff, and he squirmed slightly. He didn't like to be picked up, but he dealt with it because it was the leader, and because he was getting to go out of camp.
His paws treaded air as she lowered him towards the ground, then she set him down and nodded at him. "Well, where exactly do you want to go?" She questioned, looking around. He tilted his head slightly. "I don't know. what about... this way?" He said, smirking slightly, and indicated with his tail into the forest. [/size] |

' Lilacstar glanced at the forest, purple eyes narrowed. Plenty of things could be lurking in there... Foxes, badgers, enemies. The she-cat tipped her nose towards the air and took in a big breath of air, scenting it for anything unusual. But alas, everything smelled normal. She glanced down at the kit and nodded. "Ok, let's go."
The leader lead the way into the thick mass of trees, bushes, and bracken known as the forest. Here, the trees were so tall that the roots of them that poked through the ground were about the size of Skykit, making it hard to get over, Lilacstar imagined. She watched him carefully, making sure he wasn't having too much trouble.
