Just thought I'd make this thread, just to inform newbies. :c
Some Things You Should Know:
-If you are new to roleplaying, and aren't very experienced, try reading other roleplaying threads between more experienced roleplayers. This will help you gain knowledge of how to roleplay, or how to roleplay well. It'll also give you some possible ideas for your own roleplaying threads you may make in the future.
-We all know it's good to get inspired off of other ideas, but make sure you don't steal ideas from other roleplayers. This will only make them mad, and create unnessary drama. Stealing warrior names that are already in use on the internet is a pretty common thing that is done often too. Almost all of us have done it, even I have. But make sure you don't ALWAYS do it. Sometimes to never is better. That will also create drama if a person finds out. [Which is unlikely]
-If you are in a situation where you end up roleplaying with a more advanced roleplayer than yourself [like if they post 5 paragraph responses whereas you post barely 1 or 2] try to roleplay to their level. If you don't, there's a possibility that they'll get annoyed and stop responding. If you find roleplaying at their level difficult, either try to endure it or ask them if it's ok if you roleplay at your own level. Most likely they won't mind, but in the off chance that they do don't take it to heart. Although, roleplaying with an advanced roleplayer will help you get better.
-Going back to the above note saying, "roleplaying with an advanced roleplayer will help you get better" is pretty self explanatory. Practice makes you better, and that's the same with roleplaying. At first you might be kind of newbish or unexperienced but as you get older and more you roleplay the better you'll get. You never know. Maybe you'll end up being a really good literate roleplayer. Or, possibly a famous writer. ;D
-Literate Roleplaying. Not many people don't know what that is, let alone newbies. Don't freak out if you don't, cause I'll explain. Literate Roleplaying is basically super long detailed posts. - Example One , Example Two - So just look at those and you'll know what "literate roleplaying" is. If you end up roleplaying with someone who prefers literate roleplaying go with it. That way you'll get the practice, and you might realize that you prefer literate roleplaying style better. You can always like both non literate and literate roleplaying also.
-Muse is also a term many people don't understand. Basically, it's ideas of what to roleplay about. Kind of like writer's block. When you lose muse it means you can't think of anything interesting to type which could be because of the person you're roleplaying with, the thread is dying, or you're just not up to roleplaying that day. Writer's block is much much worse however. It means you can't think of ANYTHING to write, no matter what it is. This can be very rare to happen though. I will be honest, it's happened to me, and I lost interest in roleplaying for a long while.
-When creating a cat, you should probably make the bio pretty long if it's a character you'll roleplay a lot. Bios usually inspire muse, along with music. Listening to music can also spark some muse if you need something to write about. Taking ideas from songs for roleplaying threads [or possibly movies, plays, etc] is pretty common, and can spark ideas for possible roleplays.
*More will be added to this thread, these are just a few facts you could follow to help you roleplay. I may make a new thread about "how" to roleplay too. When I do, I'll refer to it in this thread.*
Thanks for reading. If you have any questions/comments/concerns about this, go ahead and personal message me [pm]. I'm not mean, so I'll happily answer your question or whatever. I'm on daily, so I'll most likely respond to your message within the day. Just be patient. There also may be some grammer/spelling errors I've overlooked. So if you spot any, feel free to tell me about them. Questions can also be posted below if you want, but will probably be deleted after awhile. I'll also possibly set up a FAQ about this thread I've made.
