Cloudfur bit his lip in a immense effort to keep his tears from sliding down his cheek. Where he was now sitted was one of the rare bushed part of Windclan's territory. The place where his nightmare had occured.
Cloudpaw peered around the corner of the bush and saw his brother dash across the dew speckled grass into the small clearing of the heather. Bouncing past him, came Cloudpaw's other brother. More cautiously, Cloudpaw himself padded into the clearing. "Wow!" He tilted his head up to the sky and could just make out the small clouds above him. "So this is really one of the only tree covered places?" He asked his mother. After a few moments he looked back and noticed his mother was nowhere to be seen. He glanced back towards his brothers, who were now wrestling underneath a fallen birch tree's branches. One of the only trees in Windclan. Confused he looked away from his brothers called out to his mother. Today was the first day that all four of them had stepped out together as apprentices. Yes, his mother was one too. Then he heard a fierce snarling and a yelp of pain. He spun around expecting to see his brother's getting frustrated with thier play fighting, when he saw his father, Grain, standing over one of them. Then, Cloudpaw himself was bowled over by what he suspected was another one of his father's friends. Blinded with a sudden sharp agony, Cloudpaw realized that these cats camp to kill. Then, as his pain faded he saw his own mother standing over him. "I gotta live my own life!" She explained in a quick snarl. "I'm only an apprentice." She murmured in mock anger. Cloudpaw felt his brother go still beside him and-
Wrenched out of his echo of a memory, Cloudfur almost yowled in agony of the fresh nightmare. He shrunk back as he heard a twig snap. Whoever it was, couldn't see the clan deputy like this. Not when he had a secret to keep. Cloudfur backed into the hollow birch tree and peered through the rotted roots. Nobody knew of what happened here. Not really. For it wasn't really a fox that killed his mother and brothers. In fact, his mother was still alive. But isn't that what happens to all lucky traitors?
But maybe... It was time to share his story...
