Poppystar sat on top of the large hill that towered over the rest of the Windclan camp. "May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting." She waited patiently as the cats of Windclan gathered around her. She took a deep breath and continued. "It has come to my attention that we have some apprentices who are ready to receive their warrior names," She paused "Memorypaw and Raggedpaw could you please step forward." She smiled down at the "Your mentors, Whitedawn and Diamondleaf have told me how much you have grown since you were first apprenticed." She gazed down at her brother and smiled, then returned her attention to the two apprentices. "Memorypaw, from this day forward you will be known as Memoryfade, and Raggedpaw you will be known as Raggedmemory." She bowed her head and walked down off the hill and back into her den.

Memorypaw stared at Poppystar in pride of getting her warrior name so soon. Her icy blue gaze stared at the large hill as many warriors gathered around. Her nose wrinkled as she stared at the white and black tom's name off her tounge. A fake smile grew on her face when he walked by and as far away as they could while having to be close. A purr rose in her throat as she heard her name, Memoryfade! Woah so cool! As everything seemed to slow down all her happy energy faded when she heard his name a few moments after everyone quieted down and stared at the two, There is no way in hell! What is Poppystar's problem?! She growled inside her own head. The she-cat that grew turned to the tom who had her first name as his last. A glare penatrated her face which automatically was thrown to the ground.

raggedpaw raised his head in pride at being mentioned. he glanced to his right, where his sister sat with a few of the other apprentices. technically, she didn't know that raggedpaw had apologized to her since she was sleeping. his gaze grew sad as he turned back to poppystar, but the excitement of being a warrior overruled his sadness. he inhaled a deep breath and stood tall as he padded to poppystar, sitting a few feet away from... her. the tom refused to look at memorypaw, it would just ruin this perfect moment for him. Memoryfade. he couldn't help the small roll of his eyes. yeah, it was pretty, but whatever. his would be more awesome. i wonder what my name'll be... raggedthorn? raggedslash? raggedawesome? raggedsex? his lips curled up at that last one, reminding him of his denmate that he had fooled around with earlier today. he mostly did it out of anger and spite because of his fight with memorypaw. it was only to get his anger out. not like the she-cat minded. once he was done with her, she begged for another go.

but memorypaw's words had really gotten to him. he probably did have little ragged's running around everywhere and that's a problem. he had to start taking care of himself. someday all those she-cats were going to band together and murder him in his sleep. okay, maybe not that harsh, but it was a definite possibility. so a few hours ago, while he was sitting by a river staring into the water reflection of himself, raggedpaw had swore off she-cats. no more sex. except for... no, that would never happen. raggedpaw shook his head to rid his mind of these thoughts and focused his attention on poppystar. raggedmemory his bright blue orbs doubled their size and his mouth slacked open, so open that he could catch a swarm of flies in it. "what the hell..." he muttered, his shock sending a tickle down his spine.

his bright blue orbs slid to memoryfade, wondering what she was thinking. but, her thoughts were pretty much explained by the scowl visible on her face. raggedpaw/memory? let out a sigh. what was he supposed to do now? he glanced back at goldenpaw, but his sister was staring at her paws. he turned to his mother, who looked just as shocked as he was.

Memoryfade stared at the ground before turning her gaze to see the whole family of Raggedmemory. Is she drugged? She thought quickly. The long, lean and limber gray and white she-cat's body visably tensed. She knew what was going to happen. The wall she held up that kept the flood of tears from running down her face, it wasn't fair! He was the one fooling around and here she was, with no family and she hasn't done anything wrong. The cheering came back from the sudden quietness and she looked away, her eyes glued on the she-cat named Goldenpaw. A ghostly frame of a small smile grew on her lips than slowly faded away as she saw Raggedmemory's mother looking shock. A tear hit her pelt. She was the one with her mother who made Raggedmemory and her become friends. If it wasn't for them they wouldn't have even spoken. Maybe even she would be his own little sex toy like every other she-cat. Her paw's felt frozen against the ground, should she move forward? Go say congratulaions? No! She told him she wasn't going to cheer his name. Though most of the she-cats her age were glaring at her and just cheering for him. It was to much in a few moment of time that rushed though her head. Memoryfade got her paws to move as she used her shoulder to get passed the tom that had their name. It wasn't hard, she didn't have any energy to be angry. Her paws shuffled past Goldenpaw and she paused looking at her and she fought back the tears, "He loves you, you know? No matter what happened." Her icy blue eyes went foggy with the tears that threatened, oh very violently to cascade down her fur. Looking at his mother she paused and then gave her a small look of question, before trying to think of what to say but nothing came in her head. Just giving a small nod she walked away back to a tree that shaded warriors after a long day working in the sun. "Why can't this just get better? Why am I the only one left in my family that's alive or present in the clan? Is this Starclan's way to hurt me?" She muttered. Turning her face towards the bark she began to sob, even worse than a couple moons ago after the fight. "I miss my family! How could you be so horrid! Take my brother away from me! Show me that I'm a mistake! Make my dad run away! Make my mom get captured! And then taking the last thing I had which was Raggedmemory who was like my family? I don't get it...I-it's so hard..." Her voice quivered and shook and at the last moment, it finally broke."You could of been nice and saved him from having my name on his.... make his life easier. He deserves it..."

with a sigh, he glanced back at memoryfade, completely ignoring his cheering clanmates. he just wanted to know if she was okay. and by the looks of it, she was in tears. oh no, this is all my fault. he took a step forward, but stopped himself. she didn't want to talk to him. raggedmemory sat back with a defeated huff, watching her with a curious gaze as she said something to goldenpaw. he saw his sister's eyes moisten with tears and she nodded at whatever memoryfade said. okay, now he was really curious. raggedmemory padded forward, nodding at his congratulating clanmates as he passed them. he came to a cautious stop in front of goldenpaw, who looked up at him with her innocent blue eyes that matched his. he opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. the words were caught in the back of his throat and his eyes welled with tears. he rarely cried, but it seemed like over the past few days his eyes were like the waterworks.

luckily, he didn't have to say anything. goldenpaw stepped forward and buried her muzzle into his shoulder and raggedmemory leaned into her touch, pressing his nose to her cheek. after a few moments of embracing, he leaned back and smiled through his tears. "i love you too," she said with a wink. raggedmemory blinked back his tears and pressed his nose to her cheek once more before padding towards his mother. he leaned away when she tried to lick his forehead, but he allowed her nuzzle his shoulder. "i'm proud of you," she murmured. raggedmemory nodded, his gaze dropping to the ground. "well, aren't you going to go after her?" raggedmemory turned around at the sound of his sister's voice. "what?" he asked, shocked. goldenpaw padded to their mother's side with a roll of her eyes. "you love her, idiot. it's nice seeing you like this, don't lose it over some stupid fight," she replied. raggedmemory sighed deeply, staring at his paws. "she hates me," he murmured. her mother raised his chin with her paw so he was forced to look at her. "damn, just do it! chase after her," she said with a smile.

raggedmemory glanced at the two of them and sniffed the air, catching memoryfade's scent not too far off. he padded towards it, slowing his pace once he spotted her familiar pelt. "hey, memoryfade? can i talk to you?' he called out tentatively.

Everything she cherished over he childhood was over. She couldn't believe that her apprentice years are over... It just killed her to see all the good memories pass her by only at the end to be covered in tears and a confused she cat. Not only did she mean to be that mean to him. All Memoryfade wanted was her normal life back. Where her parents were there cheering her on. A sour forced chuckle came out of her throat. Since whenever did she have her dad cheering her on. More tears ran down her cheek and she sighed heavily. Her body taking in gasps of air. She wanted to turn around to see what happened with Raggedmemory and Goldenpaw have finally made up. Quickly getting those thoughts out of her head replacing them with the thoughts that she caused the family so much hurt that they didn't care for her anymor and everything she said was a lie. Her thoughts went on and on as she felt thirsty from all the crying. Being taken out of her own thoughts she heard a familiar voice sound behind her. "Why not? I mean of course! I don't have anyone else around to tell me good luck or good job or you did it bud. No my family is gone. I thought you were too." she even thought she was done. Wiping her paw from under her eyes she made herself look normal instead of the ragged looking thing she felt like and would look like if she didn't try in the morning.

<sub>Dominopaw watched and a sigh slipped from him. Apparently I'm not ready to be a warrior. He thought bitterly and watched as the two new warriors walked around all mopy and finally came to each other. The black and white tom couldn't help but catch Memorypa-fade's words. Why not? I mean of course! I don't have anyone else around to tell me good luck or good job or you did it bud. No my family is gone. I thought you were too.

Dominopaw's lip curled up in a silent growl and he shook his head. You're stupid. They were both just using you when they needed someone to talk to. Your work is done. He told himself and slipped past the new warriors, heading towards the apprentice den with anger clear in his bright green eyes. Can she not see I love her too? He wondered. But then what does it matter? Everyone knows Raggedmemory and Memoryfade are in love.</sub>

the tears that had welled up inside his eyes threatened to spill over when raggedmemory noticed that she was also feeling as much despair as he was. he wanted to rush to her side and hold her and joke around and get in trouble, just like they used to. but he couldn't. she'd probably rip his head off if he tried. raggedmemory stood, looking awkward as ever, as he fidgeted with his paws. her words hit him hard and he had to look elsewhere, that elsewhere being dominopaw padding by. he noted the pure anger in the tom's eyes as he stalked past and raggedmemory let out a sigh. another cat angry at him. he was on a roll! his dull blue orbs slid back to memoryfade and he sat down a few feet away from her, afraid if he got any closer she'd yell at him again. he didn't like yelling.

"memoryfade... i know you're going through a really tough time right now. a-and i just wanted to let you know... i'm here for you, even if you're mad at me. and you're mad at me for a good reason. i'm a man-whore. i know it, but... i'm trying. please believe me," he said, his tone on the edge of pleading.

Memoryfade watched Dominopaw pass and her eyes softened, the tom was always one of them. She suddenly realized that Dominopaw was there when she was sad and angry with Raggedmemory. Her gray and white fur prickled as she saw the anger on his face, What the hell did I do this time? she thought hurridly in her head before turning her full body towards Raggedmemory. Looking weary and almost started start to cry. Her cheeks and fur was soggy and soaked with tears. Walking a foot closer towards the tom, her old best friend. The feeling she got when he said her name, made her cry even more. Memoryfade looked up at him and her pelt shook, part of her told herself deep down inside that she should stop crying and handle this situation with the only thing she knew to react on. Anger.

"I've been going through a hard time ever since the night we stopped being friends, Raggedmemory... I just wish you were there for me whe-n times got hard..." She paused tears ran down her face that she didn't even know were going down, "But it was our fault that those h-hard times ever happened....Yes I know I caused it..." When he said he was trying to fix his manwhoreness she paused and walked closer to him, "Try hard for Goldenpaw...okay? I know what happens. I-t's who you are...you don't need to change for me..."

he wrapped his long striped tail around his large paws in an attempt to comfort himself. his pelt was slightly shaking from his fear of being turned down from a relationship with memoryfade. he blinked gratefully when she stepped closer to him, and at the sound of her voice saying his new name, it warmed him inside. yes i know i caused it. raggedmemory shook his head at once. "not true, if i wasn't such a jerk none of this would've happened," he murmured, his voice soft and gentle. she mentioned his sister and a smile tugged at the ends of raggedmemory's lips, though he felt it was weird if he smiled when memoryfade looked so sad. "... i want to change for you too. i want you to be proud when you point and say, 'that's my best friend'." he wanted to say more, but he wasn't sure if she felt the same way. he grimaced inwardly, but kept his expression gentle and soft on the outside.
