Sagefoot's tail flicked impatiently, glancing at the sun. It was sun-high and Pessimisticpaw should be here by now. He glanced around the training hollow, ears perked, waiting for the she-cat to run in at any moment. Embarrassment prickled under his pelt as he watched the other mentors and apprentices. Hopefully Pessimisticpaw would be there soon, so he didn't look silly and alone. He did draw attraction, with his unusual brown tabby pattern.

Pessimisticpaw rushed out of the den clumsly on her feet. Oh no...this could not be good... Her gaze searched for her mentor and she sighed when she saw him. Her fur prickled with embarressment and she stared at the ground. Her blue marbled gaze turned towards the ground not ready to see her mentors raged face. "Hello Sagefoot..." Her gaze never left the ground as she mumbled.

Sagefoot couldn't help but smirk at his apprentice. Obviously she knew she was late, and was sorry for it. "You are the latest apprentice I've ever seen!" He scolded, trying to sound angry, when he really wasn't. He smiled at her, "Well, you better make up for it. What would you like to do first? The borders, hunting, or fighting?" He asked, wanting to give the apprentice a little freedom, after all, it was her first day in training. Sagefoot knew exactly how stressful it was being an apprentice.

A frown graced the she-cats face and she moved her head up, and stared at him with a long look of sorrow. But his words made her flinch and bite her tounge, Pessimisticpaw smiled back when he smiled but then frowned again, "Really? I am the latest? Are you sure you haven't seen some of the lazy apprentices that hide in the den all day." Her voice had some sort of bitter tone to it but she hid it again when he spoke. "...Fighting!" She said after sometime with wide eyes and crouched down, attempting not to stumble on her paws.

Sagefoot smirked, this apprentice better learn that I am a softy on the inside, or she'll think I'm hard on her. The tom nodded, "Fighting it is." He crouched down slightly and flicked his tail, "Come on, show me what you know." His amber eyes glittered, hoping that the she-cat wouldn't disappoint and was a decent fighter. He had faith in the pretty grey striped apprentice, but hoped they weren't too high.

Pessimisticpaw stared at the tom for a long moment and let some sort of emotion take over her body. She knew for a fact that she would fight better if she was angry at something or someone. Thinking of what some she-cats told her...called her ugly several times in a fewmoments. She got it. She knew she was. Staring at the ground between the them. Turning her gaze up towards the tom her eyes slitted and seemed to turn down the shade in her eyes into a darker shade. Using her speed to move behind him. Quickly lashing out with her back legs, taking weight on her front paws she attempted to get him to the ground.

Thought Sagefoot was surprised by the move, he was ready for it, and his mouth closed around her leg. He didn't bite down, but just held her there a moment, then let go. "Good, but if I'd been an enemy you could have been on the ground before you could even think... Try again." He stood up, keeping his claws in.

Pessimisticpaw looked at Sagefoot and grimaced. Darn it! He caught her. Shaking her leg away from his mouth she stared at the tom with a long look and laughed soon after a few moments of silence. "All I know is that it wasn't a suprise and you didn't have your back turned! Then I would of got you!" She purred. Pausing after a few heartbeats her gaze went back to going to gray as she stared him down... I should try a new move on him because he is expecting this move... Ah yes the logic made sence in her head. Quick thoughts raced through her as she chose a move, Jumping over his head in attempt to get behind him and bit his leg lightly not hard but it was her own move that she knew that made cats lose strength and collapse for a moment so they had more time to attack.

Sagefoot rolled onto his back and batted at Pessimisticpaw's head gently, with sheathed claws. Then he nipped at her ear and rolled on top of her, pinning her with his paws on her shoulders. "Well done." He complimented, "Now get me off."

Pessimisticpaw looked at Sagefoot and rolled her eyes. "That's my ear thank you" Her face twitched and a smile appeared on her muzzle. Taken back for a quick moment when he pinned her down she gasped and looked truly terrified for a split second, "Thank you!" Her voice was filled with pride when she heard her own mentor tell her she did something good today. Thinking about what he just told her she smirked and laid on the ground limp, "I think you got on me. So why did you need to tell yourself that out loud?" She mocked.
